Colossians, Week 7

Read - Colossians 3:12
: "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."

Think—As we put to death our old self, we must also clothe ourselves with Christ-like qualities. Paul lists these qualities as compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and above all, love. These are the attributes that should define our new life in Christ. When we embrace these qualities, we reflect the character of Jesus to those around us. It's not just about avoiding sin but actively pursuing righteousness and godliness. This transformation is a daily process that requires intentionality and reliance on the Holy Spirit.

Reflect - Which Christ-like quality do you find most challenging to embody, and how can you work on developing it?
Pray - Lord, help me to clothe myself with the qualities of Christ. Give me the strength to be compassionate, kind, humble, gentle, patient, forgiving, and loving. Amen.

Remember - Life in Jesus means we clothe ourselves with compassion, because that's who Jesus was.
